Worship Notes for Sunday, March 10, 2013
In our passage in Luke 9 this morning we encounter the glory of the Lord Jesus as revealed during the transfiguration with Moses and Elijah. We also see Peter’s impulsive desire to worship but his lack of understanding regarding all that he sees. Our Call to Worship comes from Psalms 29 and 105 as we ascribe glory and strength to the Lord and that is due His name. We continue by singing Glory Be to God the Father.The Nicene Creed is followed by the hymn O Shine Upon Us Lord which is a lyric about the transfiguration and the prayer that the Lord would shine upon us, displaying himself such that our hearts would burn within us with the wonders of grace.
Our second Communion Hymn is again Rise Up In Early Morning—our practice for Easter of a wonderful hymn of the resurrection. Our final hymn, Psalm 138: I Will Give You Thanks and Praise You, is a song of praise for He has displayed His Word through His glory.
