Literature Discussion Preview:The Rule of Saint Benedict

This spiritual classic by St. Benedict is a short (about 60 pages) handbook of rules to establish order in monastic communities. Still in use, this practical work offers understanding and guidance that transcends monastic settings and is useful in considering how to serve one another, live in community, and structure labor and prayer. This should be an interesting and stimulating discussion of not only historic practice but everyday use. As Benedict wrote, ora et labora, pray and work.
